Romantasy Cabaret

Step into our parlor, sweetheart...  

From behind the lush velvet drapery, a long gloved arm reaches out and beckons to you.

"Step into the parlor" she whispers breathily, the scent of jasmine mingling with hot static excitement. A young boy lifts up the drapery to sneak a peek at long, curvy, stockinged legs.

"Shoo!" yells one of the rousties.

As you pull back the drapes and walk through the hazy fog,  you find your heart racing, the hairs stand up on the back of your neck, and that little twinge of being naughty taps you on the shoulder.

As you gaze about, feathers, glittering gems, and lacy underthings tease you.  Parfums, talcs and all scents girly threaten to take over your sensibilities. Satin pillows, beaded curtains and carafes of wine lure you deeper in, farther away from what is right and closer to what is so very very wrong. 

She smooths the satin bedding. "Come sit over here," she says a twinkle of devilish desire lighting up the room.

Just then, the lights come up, the music cascades out of the speakers and showgirls dash out from what were once dark dressing corners.  You have been lured into Romantasy Cabaret...

Come peek through our peephole, peer under the velvet draperies, gawk through dark shadows. It's ok, we won't tell on you...  

Romantasy Cabaret debuted in 2007 at the (now defunct) Paper Heart arts venue in Phoenix Arizona. The show enjoyed a successful and sold out season in 2007 before making their way to a new venue in 2008. The Sets was a music club and is also now closed down. More sold out shows in 2008 had Romantasy Cabaret in search of a larger venue to house the many eager fans who came to fall in lust with the vaudeville-cabaret show.

Since 2009 Romantasy Cabaret and her cast and crew of ne'er-do-wells have settled in to Club Red in Tempe, a generously sized nightclub with amazing sound, glorious lighting, a full bar and great ambiance. 2009 proved to be an even more successful season, boasting over 40 cast members, 12 crew folk and an ever changing line up of amazing circus, cabaret, vaudeville, side show and burlesque acts to satisfy all palettes. More fab fun in 2010 and 2011 incited the cast and crew to never look back as they began to plan their SIXTH season, 2012.
